Anu Devi

Anu Devi, a Maha Dalit women, was living in extreme poverty situation before she invited a PRAN (Preservation and Proliferation of Rural Resources and Nature), the then PRADAN staff to support her for SRI cultivation in the year 2008. She had seen SRI crops in neighbouring villages Sekhwara, Ghantadih and Satgharwa in 2007 and was determined to learn the package of practice. She was the first and only one woman to transplant paddy through SRI method in her 5 kattha (roughly 20 decimal) land in 2008.

Madhuri Devi

Anita Devi

Anita Devi, a graduate farmer from Naknupa village, Sherghati block, Gaya district, has successfully adopted natural farming practices across paddy, wheat, rapeseed, and vegetables using the SRI method. By applying natural inputs such as Sribeejamrit for seed treatment, Srijivamrit and other bio-fertilisers, along with botanical pesticides and fungicides, she significantly reduced her cost of cultivation while improving productivity.

Anshu Devi

Anshu Devi, a Class 8–educated farmer from Pathalghata village in Manpur block of Gaya district, has effectively adopted natural farming practices through the SRI method in wheat, paddy, vegetables, and green gram. She practices seed treatment with Sribeejamrit and uses a range of natural fertilisers, botanical pesticides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators, along with eco-friendly pest management methods such as pheromone traps, sticky plates, and bird perches.

Babita Devi

Babita Devi, a matriculate farmer from Barsona village, Tankupa block of Gaya district, has successfully adopted natural farming using the SRI method across paddy, wheat, rapeseed, and vegetables. She follows seed treatment with Sribeejamrit and regularly applies a range of natural fertilisers, botanical pesticides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators. For ecological pest management, she uses pheromone traps, sticky plates, bird perches, bonfire methods, and insect traps, along with mixed cropping, border crops, and live and dead mulching to enhance soil moisture and fertility.
